Great book! I read about 75% of it in one sitting. The short chapters left me thinking to myself that I could finish just one more and next thing I knew I was finished with the entire book. I particularly enjoy historical fiction and this was a great story with some interesting history lessons along the way. And, if you have any connection to the New England area it's also a bit fun to read about places you know weaved into a book. I would highly recommend this book to anyone.Product details

Call Me Madame Alice edition by KW Garlick Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
I definitely enjoyed learning about the 1938 New England hurricane and how it affected so many families. The real complex mystery that intrigued me was the back door hidden secrets and conspiracies that contributed to the sinking of the Titanic! It was a real eye opener!
I couldn't put this book down, finished in only a few sittings. I really appreacited the glimpse into New England in the early 1900s and thoroughly enjoyed the story and strong chatacters. I look forward to K.W. Garlick's next work!
Once I started to read this fantastic book I could not put it down. Love the period it takes place in as well as the location. I love New England and enjoy reading anything historical that takes place there whether it be fiction or non fiction. I must say this book was awesome. The concept as well as the writing held my interest from start to finish. Can't wait for the next one...
Enjoy historical fiction, especially when there is a conspiracy involved! I also was intrigued about the local 1938 hurricane since I only knew so little about the facts and resulting damage it caused.
A book that has everything! Suspense, mystery, history...For me and the readers in our book club, the local history (coastal Rhode Island and the MA south coast) and the largely unknown "true" story of the sinking of the Titanic, Mr. Garlick's book proved to be very, very insightful. It was a hit with the book club and we enjoyed communicating with the author. He is a skilled writer and his novel reflected his thoughtful research into the topic.
Madame Alice has an intriguing premise, artfully told through the eyes of several key players. Garlick has played an insightful game of "what if" that resulted in a genre-bending tale. If you love conspiracy, it will make you think twice, maybe three times. If you love mystery, secrets abound and you'll be guessing all the way to the end. If you love ghost stories, this has a great "gotcha" factor. Historical and local place details are nicely woven in as well.
I love historic fiction. Very much enjoyed this novel of historic fiction. It brought to mind many things I had forgotten as well as history unknown to me. It kept me guessing what would happen next, and I was usually wrong--to me a good sign. Numerous books are so predictable, not this one.
Appreciate the melding of the characters and various plots. Looking forward to K.W. Garlick's next book.
